Technology integration in the esl classroom
Adult ESL learners have many goals and often learning English is not the only goals. They want to be digital literate too. However, Adult ESL educators are oftentime lack of ESL teaching experience and proficiency in integrating technology in the ESL classroom. ESL Educators should possess various teaching approaches to engage their students and proficiency in using various computer-assisted language learning tools. Having the knowledge of various SLA theories and research could help understand the need of the English learners and help identify some Instructional Technology approaches and theories behind the importance of their use.
To be effective, the administrators of the adult ESL program should properly train the educators to not only be an effective educators but also able to integrate the use of teachnology in the classroom to engage and inform the students.
